Mileage161,172Service Date1/23/2026Services Performed- The technician advanced to level #4 testing and he first consulted with the customer on all the symptoms and parts that have been replaced to fix the EVAP Code. The tech then hooked up the scanner and he checked for codes and codes P0175 Bank #2 running rich, P0172 Bank #1 running rich, and P0446 Purge Control Valve Permanently Open present. The tech then removed the rear passenger side wheel well to gain access to the vent valve. The tech then printed out the wiring diagram and he studied it in detail. The tech then tested for a good power and ground at the vent valve and the tests passed. The tech then hooked a smoke machine and he verified there is a very small leak present. The tech then traced all the lines with a special light and he did locate and fix small leaks in the system. The tech also noted that the fuel cap is aftermarket so he installed an OEM fuel cap. The tech the cleared the codes and he took the vehicle for several test drives and he verified that the mixture codes and most of the monitors ran and passed. The customer was given the choice for the shop to continue driving the vehicle to make sure the EVAP monitor runs and passes, or they could take the vehicle and drive until the EVAP monitor ran and passes so the shop was unable to verify all the EVAP issues have been repaired. If the EVAP codes comes back, the customer will need to bring the vehicle back and we will perform a complimentary level #1 testing.

- On the extended test drive, the tech noted that the ABS and Traction Warning Lights are on. The tech then hooked up his scanner and he checked the ABS Module for codes and codes U 3003-16 low module voltage, and C0037-15 Left Rear Wheel Speed sensor code was present. The tech then test drove the vehicle with the scanner hooked up and he verified that the left rear ABS sensor was not sending a signal. The tech then tested and inspected the left rear wheel speed sensor and he noted that the electrical pig-tail has been ripped off and is missing, and the wheel speed sensor connector is filled with mud and grease. RECOMMENDATION The tech noted that when cranking, the battery is weak and very low so the low voltage code may be a false code. The tech recommends replacing the weak and worn out battery, and also wiring on a new pig-tail, and replacing the ABS sensor. The tech will then clear the codes and take the vehicle for an extended test drive to verify the ABS system works properly, and the codes do not return.

2018 Ford Escape
Mileage73,207Service Date7/25/2024Services Performed- The technician advanced to level #2 testing, and he first consulted with the customer regarding the symptoms, and all the prior testing performed to the vehicle to determine why the vehicle has low power, and the check engine light comes on. The tech then hooked up his factory level scanner and he checked for codes and code P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure – Too Low (Bank 1). The tech then went into his scanner, and he set up the scanner recorder to record and monitor the fuel delivery system and he noticed that when he accelerated the engine, the power dropped way down. The tech then reviewed the scanner recorder information, and he noted that the desired high fuel pressure was 1232.5, psi, and the actual was only 76.8psi. The tech also performed extensive research and the camshafts lobes have been known to get worn down by the high pressure pump. The tech then performed extensive research, and as long as there is not excessive metal shavings in the engine/oil, there have been known cases where replacing the camshaft was an expectable repair. If the engine/oil system shows excessive metal shavings, the tech recommends a complete engine replacement.
